Angie

Dancing has always been a part of my life.  As a young girl, I was in dance classes.  In high school and college, I was on the dance team.  But what is a woman to do to dance after school?  There are not many opportunities to dance as an adult, so when I saw a Bellydance class offered by the Fox Valley Park District, I was intrigued.  I first enrolled in a "Bellydance Boot camp" class under the direction of Isis Panthea, and I was hooked.  Unfortunately, life took me in and out of Bellydance classes several times, until I finally settled in for good in January of 2006.  Now I am establishing my role as a Real Woman Bellydancer.  A role in which I am free to dance and be comfortable in my body, just the way it is.  I'm free to be myself (or another dancer if I am an understudy).  And I love having the opportunity to pass that type of positive self image on to future generations.
