I have been dancing for as long as I can
remember. I still have my first pair
of tap shoes from when I was three.
Through the years, my form of dance has definitely gone through
different phases. As a kid, I did the
regular tap and ballet, (and one day's worth of the Irish Jig, thanks
mom). In middle and high school I was
more of a jazz/pop dancer. Once in
college, I was all about swing dancing!
That was really fun except you needed to count on a partner... It
wasn't until I started grad school that I was bitten with the belly dancing
bug. Loved it from day one. After getting the basics at the South
Barrington Park District, I moved to Virginia and found a group of cabaret
dancers that welcomed me into WAMEDA (Washington Area Middle Eastern Dance
Association). I danced with them for
two years before moving back to IL. I
have now been welcomed by another wonderful group of dancers and I'm glad to
be part of the team. Thanks Real
